Welcome to the Outsiders!

PONYBOY, SODAPOP, DARRY, DALLY! I love all of the greasers--some more than others, of course.

Now that you've started The Outsiders, tell me what you think. I have three questions:

Do you like Ponyboy? What do you like about him?

Of his two brothers, which one do you like? Darry, the oldest? Sodapap, the easy-going one?

This one is a BIGGIE!: Do you think the conflict between the Socs and the Greasers is realistic? Tell me why or why not?

HEY,
um i do like ponyboy, because he is soooo cute but the thing that i really like about him is that he is trustworthy and so respectful and really sweet.
i like sodapop better than darry on the book it says that sodapop undertands everything.

I think it might be realistic because i think that maybe now it wouldnt but i think that bak then it might of been realistic because maybe the greasers were lower class and the soc were like the the high class. So maybe i think that was the reason they didnt like each other.

hey-oh

i think ponyboy is great. he's nice, trustworth, and respectful...even if he doesn't use his head
i like sodapop better that darry. he is more understanding and he sticks up for pony boy.

sadly i think it is realistic. people can hate other people for no reason. like ponyboy said, they didn't do anything to them but the greasers get jummped any way. it might go back a long ways though so i'll understand better when i finish the book.

Hey Everybody--
I am really liking the Outsiders!
If I hadn't been gone to the Guthrie, I would have finished that book, like Hannah. [AkA Miss Bookworm! HeeHee!]

Ponyboy is the kind of guy that everybody should have as a friend. He's just the kind of guy that will always have your back and be there for you. Very trustworthy.

Sodapop! Hands down! He sounds like he would be the guy that everybody wants to be around. I think of him as maybe the "not-so-paper-smart" kind of guy, but a "street-smart-fun-loving" kinda guy.

It's realistic. I'm not sure how to explain it right now, since I'm only a couple chapters into the book, but I think I'll figure it out sooner or later!

Stay Fabulous!

Hey everyone-
OUTSIDERS!!!

I love ponyboy just like you said Ms.Stenson ponyboy does make feel like he is really trustworthy! & he acts really sweet to Cherry in the movie & he's not that bad looking either! :)

SODAPOP for sure! I like how he sticks up for Ponyboy in the beginning of the story & how he understands everyone!

I think it is realistic because even right now we have groups at this school, but we don't go beating up people for fun or anything like that (as in Socs).

I am a huge fan of soda pop! He helps out ponyboy in times of need, and sticks up for him when Darry was yelling at him.

This story is realistic, it happens all the time. It may not be in the form of greasers and socs, it might not even be in groups. People are always getting made fun of because they aren't rich, as for now, there are always the two sides.

OMG!! Copper Sun was an amazing book! I finished it this morning!!! Some parts were hard to read, because of what was going on, but that was because it was so true! I found myself getting mad, happy, sad, and all the emotions with the characters!!!! I really recommend this book.

I watched the movie the Outsiders last night! It was so different from the book! The movie was kind of confusing for me at first because I had to figure out who was who. It was a great movie though! I have to go!! Bye~Hannah

Hey!

I don't know if I like PonyBoy yet. Once I know him a bit more I will choose. He seems alright though. I think I'll like him in the end.

I Like SodaPop. Darry seems a little mean. Like he seems like a touch Love kinda guy, while Soda is a fun loving guy.

So yeah.

I think it is really realistic! Like it isn't just Greaser and Socs. I think stuff like that happens everyday around the world.

Hi- I said I really liked soda pop. Well I changed my mind. After seeing the movie, reading the book, and writing that double journal entry thing, I really got to learn more about ponyboy. I feel like I can relate to him in many ways. Like he is kind of shy sometimes, I am like that too sometimes. When he does stuff, he has a meaning for doing them, and I understand why he does and thinks the way he thinks. Whereas, Dally, he just does stuff to et in trouble. I also think ponyboy is really trustworthy and a exellent friend.
