How do you spell fun?

B-O-O-K T-A-L-K-S!

Man, in my ten years of teaching, few days have been as fun as the past few. 8th graders on Team 8-2 have been talking about books, book talking, sharing stories, recommending their favorites, and I can only hope the discussion continues. Those book talk days went beyond my expectations...it's how we are going to spend a handful more of our days together.

Was it me, or did 8th graders use some of the most persuasive, creative, and descriptive language you've heard? It was awesome. I can't wait to get them on the iPods...and Ms. Lang thinks we might be able to get them on the school website even! With their author's permission, of course...

Anyway, here's a shout out to all of the kids who gave books talks (all but 5 kids on Team 8-2 at this point). Some of you had only finished one book, some of you weren't excited about sharing it in front of the class, some of you forgot to write as many drafts as I requested, but YOU DID IT!

I love a book talk. Thanks for 140+ of them!

KEEP THE CONVERSATION GOING (good work, Burky, Hannah, Lizzie...and the others too).
Kindly,
Stenson

Sweet!! I thought the book talks were really fun!!! I also liked hearing what others were reading and I am probably going to read some of the books people did. I'm not reading anything new lately, but a few books I do want to get my hands on are The Notebook, A wrinkle in time, tell it to Naomi, secrets of my hollywood life: a novel, As simple as snow, and a few others. If anyone is looking for a great book I recommend Looking or Alaka and The Wednesday Wars. They are great books!!! Oh ya, Lizzie I'll bring Poseur tommrow if your up to it!!! JK!!!♥Hannah

I'm reading the Posuer book right now. It's similar to the A-List, but it's a lot more of fashion and designer name brands. I reccomend this book to people who have a little designer smarts before reading it!

HI! I finished the Book Theif about...two minutes ago and it was so amazing!! It is probably my second favorite book of all time. I admit it was kind of a challenge and I had to reread some parts, but it was really worth it. I recommend it!! Plus I'ts really fun learning about the Holocaust in so many different ways and seeing the views of it from different people. What I liked about the Book Theif is you hear the different views from a jew and a German. :) ~Hannah
